The annual Holiday Art Show opened at the Plaza Gallery November 28. There was plenty of good cheer, lively chatter and beautiful works of art.
All pieces are specially priced for gift-giving. 🙂
They came, they saw, they bought.
That was the scene at Saturday’s garage sale for the Ajo Council for the Arts (ACFA). More items that we could count came in on Thursday and Friday, donated by Ajoites who appreciate the work ACFA does for the arts in this small town.
There was a lineup at the door well before 7:30 AM — and once the doors opened the crowd poured in. It was so busy I didn’t even have time to take any pictures. 🙂
Many thanks to Sally Morrow and her committee for organizing the event, and to all those who volunteered to help in so many ways.
Thanks also to artists Pat Rigdon and Joyce Chaney who each donated a piece of art. Lots of people bought tickets for a chance to win the pieces.

The Ajo Council for the Fine Arts is holding a fundraiser Saturday March 1 at the Lion’s Club in Ajo. Early risers will love this event — doors open at 7:30 AM. The sale runs through til 4 PM so you can shop later as well. 🙂
In addition to all the good things that will be on sale, two local artists have donated works of art — Pat Rigdon has donated a beautiful floral watercolor and Joyce Chaney has donated a hand-painted metal horse.
Tickets to win one of these pieces will be available at the garage sale — 1 ticket for a $1 donation or 6 tickets for $5.
Members of the Desert Artist Guild once again put on a fine show at the Federated Church. Here are some of the pieces featured at this year’s event.
DAG’s next big event is the 5th annual Juried Show & Sale at the Plaza Gallery in Ajo. Intake is Saturday January 4th. The opening is Friday January 10 from 5:30 to 7:30. The show runs to February 10.
